Mood Emulation is a series exploring the relationship between colour, form and emotional states. Working with transparent and reflective materials, the series attempts to give visual form to something inherently ephemeral: the shifting, intangible experience of mood.

The work is partly an exercise in emotional awareness - an attempt to become more attentive to subtle changes in mood and to develop ways of identifying and regulating them. At the same time, it asks how an internal and fleeting experience might be translated into a two-dimensional visual language. Through layered colour, reflection, transparency and form, the works continually change with light, movement and the viewer’s position, mirroring the unstable and transient nature of emotion.
